A Angola Cables, empresa de telecomunicações de Luanda (Angola), prevê investir US$ 50 milhões até o fim deste ano nos três projetos que possui em Fortaleza. Apenas até este mês já foram aportados US$ 10 milhões, conforme Rafael Pistono, CEO da companhia no Brasil.
Hoje a empresa está na fase conclusiva do sistema Monet, cabo submarino com tecnologia de fibra óptica que liga Santos (SP) a Miami (EUA), passando por Fortaleza. "Estamos na fase de construções terrestres, com 80% do projeto como um todo construído", diz. A estimativa é concluir o sistema, com consequente entrada em operação entre setembro e agosto deste ano.
Na Praia do Futuro, também está em construção a estação do South Atlantic Cable System (Sacs), que ligará a Luanda a Fortaleza e já está com 50% de conclusão. Na última semana, a empresa construiu o Survey, quando é realizado o mapeamento do trajeto e solo onde o cabo será instalado em alto mar.
A empresa ainda está construindo um data center na Praia do Futuro, no qual os cabos Monet e Sacs estarão interligados. A previsão de conclusão é para o primeiro semestre do próximo ano. De caráter neutro, o empreendimento permitirá que outras empresas interliguem seus sistemas a ele. "Pretendemos que ele seja um grande polo de interconectividade mundial e nacional. Um grande provedor de conteúdo", afirma Rafael.
Ao todo, os três projetos terão investimento e US$ 300 milhões. Sendo que o sistema Monet conta com parceria da Google (com duas fibras no cabo), Algar (com uma fibra) e Antel (com uma fibra). A Angola Cables possui duas fibras.

Angola Cables, a telecommunications company in Luanda (Angola), plans to invest US $ 50 million by the end of this year in its three projects in Fortaleza. US$ 10 million have already been transferred this month, according to Rafael Pistono, CEO of the company in Brazil.
Today the company is in the final phase of the Monet system, a submarine cable with fiber optic technology that connects Santos (SP) to Miami (USA), through Fortaleza. "We are in the phase of terrestrial constructions, with 80% of the project as a whole built," he says. The estimate is to complete the system, with consequent start-up between September and August of this year.
At Praia do Futuro, the South Atlantic Cable System (Sacs) station is also under construction, linking Luanda to Fortaleza and is already 50% complete. Last week, the company did a survey to map the route and seabed where the cable will be installed in open sea.
The company is still building a data center at Praia do Futuro, in which the Monet cables will be interconnected. The completion forecast is for the first half of next year. The venture will allow other companies to interconnect their systems to it. "We want it to be a great global and national interconnectivity hub, a great provider of content," says Rafael.
Altogether, the three projects will receive a US$300 million investment. The Monet system is partnered with Google (with fibers in the cable), Algar (with a fiber) and Antel (with a one fiber). Angola Cable has two fibers.
